What data we collect
We collect the following personal data:
- Analytics data — anonymous usage data via Google Analytics (GA4): pages visited, time on site, and general location. No personally identifiable information is collected by analytics.
- Newsletter subscriptions — your email address, and optionally your city preference, when you subscribe to our newsletter via ourlocals.co.uk.
- Listing claims — your name, email address, phone number, and role when you submit a claim request for a business listing. This is used solely to verify your connection to the business.
How we use data
- Analytics data is used to understand how visitors use the site and improve the experience.
- Newsletter email addresses are used to send our weekly local guide. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- Claim form data is used to verify business ownership and grant access to the owner dashboard. It is not used for marketing.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
Data retention
Newsletter subscriber data is held until you unsubscribe. Claim request data is held for as long as your owner account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@ourlocals.co.uk.
